Terms of Use

1. Agreement to these Terms
These Terms of Use ("Terms") form a legally binding agreement between you and LitVM ("LitVM," "we," "our," or "us") and govern your access to and use of the website at litvm.com, any subdomains, related documentation, the LiteForge testnet interfaces, and any other online properties we operate (collectively, the "Services"). By accessing or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not access or use the Services.
2. Eligibility
You represent and warrant that you are at least eighteen (18) years old or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, whichever is greater, and that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. The Services are not directed to, or intended for use by, persons in any jurisdiction where their use would be contrary to law or regulation, or where LitVM is not authorised to make them available. You are solely responsible for ensuring that your access to and use of the Services complies with all laws and regulations applicable to you.
3. About the Services
LitVM is a marketing and informational website for Litecoin's Virtual Machine, an EVM-compatible execution environment for the Litecoin ecosystem. The Services include this website, public-facing documentation, the LiteForge testnet, the Builders Program portal, and educational content. We do not custody user funds, operate validators on behalf of users, or provide brokerage, custody, or exchange services. Smart contracts, wallets, and on-chain assets are operated and controlled by you and by third parties; we do not have the ability to reverse, freeze, or recover on-chain transactions.
4. Web3 risk disclosures
You acknowledge that interacting with blockchain networks, smart contracts, and digital assets carries significant risks, including but not limited to: loss of private keys, smart contract vulnerabilities, network downtime, regulatory changes, price volatility, and the irreversibility of on-chain transactions. The LiteForge testnet uses test tokens with no monetary value; any reference to "zkLTC" on testnet is for development and demonstration purposes only. Nothing on the Services constitutes financial, investment, legal, tax, or other professional advice, and you should consult qualified advisors before making any decision based on information available through the Services.
5. No offer of securities or financial products
Nothing on the Services constitutes an offer to sell, a solicitation of an offer to buy, or a recommendation of any security, token, or financial product in any jurisdiction. References to research papers, ecosystem projects, or third-party tokens are informational only.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to (a) use the Services in violation of any applicable law or regulation; (b) attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Services or related infrastructure; (c) introduce malware, scripts, or other harmful code; (d) scrape or harvest content in a manner that materially burdens the Services; (e) misrepresent your identity or affiliation; (f) use the Services to facilitate sanctioned activity, money laundering, terrorism financing, or fraud; or (g) interfere with any user's access to the Services. We may suspend or terminate access for any user who, in our reasonable judgement, breaches these obligations.
7. Third-party services and links
The Services may link to or integrate with third-party services, including wallet providers, block explorers, faucets, the Caldera rollup stack, BitcoinOS infrastructure, and the broader Litecoin ecosystem. We do not control, endorse, or assume responsibility for any third-party services or content, and your use of them is subject to their own terms and policies.
8. Intellectual property
All content on the Services — including text, graphics, logos, icons, images, video, audio, and software — is the property of LitVM or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. The "LitVM" name and logo are trademarks of LitVM. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and view the Services for personal, non-commercial purposes. Open-source components are licensed under their respective licenses, which take precedence over this section.
9. User submissions and feedback
If you submit feedback, suggestions, or other information to us (including via newsletter signup, Builders Program applications, or community channels), you grant LitVM a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, sublicensable license to use, reproduce, modify, and incorporate that material for any lawful purpose, without compensation or attribution. You represent that you have all rights necessary to grant this license.
10. Disclaimers
The Services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of harmful components, or that any content is accurate, complete, or current.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event will LitVM, its affiliates, or its or their respective officers, directors, employees, contractors, agents, or licensors be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or digital assets, whether based on contract, tort, statute, or any other legal theory, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Services will not exceed one hundred US dollars (USD 100). Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages; in such jurisdictions our liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted by law.
12. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless LitVM and its affiliates from any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from (a) your use of the Services, (b) your breach of these Terms, (c) your violation of any law or the rights of any third party, or (d) any content you submit or transmit through the Services.
13. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including suspected breach of these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law — will continue to apply.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which LitVM is established, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer-protection law gives you the right to bring proceedings in your country of residence. You agree to first attempt to resolve any dispute informally by contacting us before pursuing legal action.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice (such as a banner on the site or an email to newsletter subscribers). Your continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
16. Miscellaneous
If any provision of these Terms is held to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect. Our failure to enforce any right or provision is not a waiver of that right or provision. You may not assign these Terms without our prior written consent; we may assign them freely. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and LitVM regarding the Services.
